Livestream of Antiphonus concert for the restoration of the damaged MUO holdings
Friday, 15 May, 2020 at 8 p.m.
Cultural life rises from the ashes, and with the singing of the phoenix Antiphonus summons the dawn from the damaged yet living Museum of Arts and Crafts.
Neither the earthquake nor the evil virus deprived you of Gesualdo’s Responsories for Holy Week …
It was just a delay!
Therefore, on Friday, 15 May at 8 p.m., Antiphonus performs Responsories for Holy Week via livestream, and as promised, the intermezzi of Fukoshima, Takemitsu and Saariaho will be performed by Dani Bošnjak on flute, from the Poreč Theatre, from a great social distance.
At the same time, this is the first, and hopefully the last necessary livestream of this profile, provided by ENTRIO.
Concert tickets, as a kind of donation, can be purchased via the link:
Antiphonus, who, like all artists these days suffers from prolonged fasting and abstinence, invites you on that occasion for a small donation of 30 HKN for our heritage that was destroyed during the Šenoa earthquake, as well as during this new one. The sculpted altars from the Zagreb Cathedral, the work of Baroque sculptor Johannes Kommersteiner, which stood in the side apses of the cathedral until its neo-Gothic restoration after the earthquake of 1880, were arranged in smaller churches in the surrounding Zagreb parishes due to the damage they suffered. In 1921, Gjuro Szabo, the then director of the Museum of Arts and Crafts, found a composite whole made up of parts of two altars in the parish church in Lonja near Zagreb and saved them from further destruction by moving them to the Museum of Arts and Crafts.
See you and hear you on Friday 15. May at 8 p.m.!
Stay healthy and enjoy the music!
