World Art Nouveau Day 10.6.2018.

World Art Nouveau Day 10th June 2018
International Exhibition, Museum of Arts and Crafts, 8th -17th June 2018 /  11:00

The Art Nouveau Movement impacted the art of most European countries. The aim of the present partnership of 10 organizations from 7 countries in the Danube region is to coordinate
efforts to protect, revitalize and promote Art Nouveau heritage during the period 2017-2019. The association Réseau Art Nouveau Network has announced the theme of this year’s  World Art Nouveau Day, held on 10 June 2018: ‘My favourite Art Nouveau Architect’. In response we have organized an exhibition highlighting Art Nouveau architecture in the Danube Region. The partner cities of the Interreg Danube Transnational Programme (Belgrade, Budapest, Bucharest, Ljubljana, Oradea, Sofia, Subotica, Szeged, Vienna and Zagreb) would like to commemorate the anniversary of Otto Wagner and Marcell Komor and present not only the best-known architects of these cities but also the diversity of the Movement in the regions above. This exhibition will be staged on World Art Nouveau Day all over the Danube region. Three separate topics will be examined: Otto Wagner and his pupils, Ödön Lechner and his followers and the Endeavours of Art Nouveau.
