5 December 2017 – 18 February 2018
Museum of Arts and Crafts
This year, the Museum of Arts and Crafts hosts yet another fairy tale like exhibition during the Advent season; Ballet and Passion – The Jelko Yuresha Donation. This year the visitors will have the chance to enjoy luxurious costumes, valuable photographs and unique ballet artifacts from Jelko Yuresha’s donation, Zagreb-born world-class ballet artist.
Yuresha’s collections were born out of the magical whirlwind of ballet, travel, encounters, friendships, new cities and countries, and feature the costumes and items used by some of the greatest ballet artists, such as his wife Belinda Wright, Rudolf Nureyev, Olga Spessivtseva, Maya Plisetskaya, Anna Pavlova, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Margot Fonteyn, and many others.
The richness and diversity of the costumes Jelko Yuresha and Belinda, as well as other ballet stars, danced in, have been collected over the decades on the world ballet scene, witnessing the world-class productions in some of the most prestigious ballet companies of London, Tokyo, New York, Moscow, Paris, Venice, Latin America…
The exhibition is accompanied by a rich programme of creative workshops, concerts, lectures, guided tours in Croatian and English, film screenings and exclusive souvenirs for children and adults.
